Focus on the Flowers!

These are pictures of flowers I took when our family went on vacation in Williamsburg, Virginia . The funny thing about this picture is that I took the picture in May of 2013. A couple days ago, I was skimming through random pictures, when I rediscovered this one (the actual picture)-

And then I thought, wow! This was a really cool picture! I knew I had taken the picture of these flowers because I was taking pictures that day. Then I thought, this would be a really cool picture if I photoshopped it! And I did. This is what it turned out to be...

Later on, while I was going through some other pictures that day, I realized that it would be really cool if I made it into dreamy or hazy picture. That's what I turned the original picture into. What I had done is put soft focus so the background was out of focus, and the flower was still clear. This is what turned out to be....

This picture is basically the same thing as the one right above. The only thing that is different is that there is less vibrance and less temperature. This gives a more subtle look on the flower. This is the end result.....

Now, compare the second and third pictures. For me, I got so use to the third one with a blurred background, that when I looked back at the second one, the background looked so cool! It was as if the third flower's background was in fact like a dream!

Bouquets of Roses

These are all flowers in which I took. I took them all on my IPod touch 5. For some of them, I used the special effects options (like transfer and tone). These were all real bouquet of flowers! I didn't photoshop any of these other than the special effects used on the iPod...

This is had no special effects...

This had the transfer effect. It adds temperature to the picture.

This one was just some random picture I took. It's not the best because you can see
the flowers wilting. No effects.

I added the transfer effect to this one.

This one, I added the tone effect. It makes the picture not
entirely black and white, but adds very light color to it.

This one had no effect.

This one had no effect. I really like this one because I got the sky in the
background.

Close up trees

This is also another picture I took at my photography camp.
The only thing I did to this picture was add some exposure.
When I took it, it came out really dark, so I lightened it up a little.

This is similar to the picture on the top.
Both of them are close up pictures of a coniferous tree.
To me, these pictures are really cool. It is blurry up front, and very clear in the back.
I only added exposure to this picture too.

Garden of Flowers

This is one of the pictures I took in Photography Camp.
If you look in the background, it looks like a valley, right?
That is what I like about this picture. I actually took this picture in the city.
The trees blocked out the lamp poles, and right behind the stone wall was the road.
I just pointed my camera a little up towards the sky, so it got the valley feel...

This picture was similar to the top one.
It was like a whole big garden of those flowers.
I got a lot of great shots of these, but these two were my favorite.
What I really like about the two are that the flowers came out crystal clear.
I didn't photoshop both of the pictures at all.

Colored Flowers

This is a picture I took of the flowers in our front yard.
This is not the original picture.
I already photoshopped this if you can see carefully.
I sharpened, contrasted, exposured, and I added some highlights.

This is the picture in which I further photoshopped.
I added focal B&W on just the white flower.
I think it came out really well, but the red flower got a little color.

One of My First Ones

This is one of the first pictures I have photoshopped.
I use the software Picasa to do most of my photoshopping currently...
This is the original picture taken.

This is the picture in which I photoshopped.
I really like this one because I added Focal Point BW.
What this does is that it takes the whole picture and makes it black and white. Then it adds a small portion of the picture and puts it back into color!
I also added some exposure and some sharpening.
I would have really liked it if I only got the face to be in color, and not just that general area.
